Wedding Dresses That Became Part of Film History
Katharine Ross | The Graduate (1967)

The lace, veil and bouquet place Katharine Ross’s Elaine inside the familiar visual language of a conventional wedding. What makes the image memorable is the tension around that neat arrangement: the dress seems to belong to a plan the characters can no longer comfortably follow. Mike Nichols’s film turns bridal formality into part of a much larger argument about expectation and uncertainty.
