Eight Table Lamps That Became Design Icons
Tolomeo Table

Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina · 1987
Launched in 1987, Tolomeo turns the everyday desk lamp into an exercise in balance and reach. Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina paired lightweight aluminium arms with a tension-cable system and an adjustable head. The visible joints explain how the lamp works, while the simple reflector keeps attention on the light falling across the desk.
