Kitchen Objects That Became Design Classics
Anna G. Corkscrew

Alessandro Mendini · 1994
Alessandro Mendini gave the corkscrew a face, a dress and a small performance to deliver. First produced in 1994, Anna G. raises her arms as the screw enters the cork, making the mechanism feel like a dance. The chrome-plated version shown here, introduced in 2003, translates that cheerful figure into a gleaming little sculpture.
