These fifteen movies each won at least eight competitive Academy Awards, from black-and-white dramas and studio musicals to large-scale epics. Follow the countdown through their winning categories, with official trailers where available and film posters for the remaining entries.
How the countdown works: Competitive awards only. Wins determine the order, followed by nominations and then release year. Equal win totals remain ties: the final three films each won eleven Oscars. Honorary, special and scientific or technical awards are excluded.
